Our Compass and MARIS business development teams have just returned from a busy week at Posidonia in Greece – one of the world’s most prestigious maritime events. Athens was a hive of activity with visitors attending the packed exhibition halls and technical workshops.
David and Diane were showcasing our Compass ferry ticketing and reservation software whilst Bruce and Cat were talking to many of the international ship registries in attendance about MARIS our ship registry platform.
Posidonia 2016 attracted over 22,000 shipping industry professionals who visited one of the world’s most prestigious maritime event to meet, network and do business with more than 1,800 exhibitors from 90 countries deployed across 40,000 sqm at Athens Metropolitan Expo this week. This year's event saw a 14% increase in visitor numbers in comparison to the the previous record-breaking event in 2014.
However, this biennial conference was not all work and no play, for delegates with a competitive edge, there were various games encouraging friendly rivalry, including the yacht race, soccer tournament, golf tournament and the brand new running event! Not to mention watching the sun set on the Acropolis of an evening…
