PDMS are pleased to announce that they have become ITSO registered suppliers.  This means that PDMS will be putting its POSTs (point of sale terminals) through ITSO’s testing procedures with a view to receiving certification that they are compliant with the latest version of the ITSO Specification.

ITSO is a Government-backed, non-profit distributing organisation which aims to make travelling on public transport throughout the UK seamless and easier by using smart technology.

PDMS is working on providing a solution for ferry operators which will allow them to accept contactless smartcards as a method of payment - helping to achieve Transport Scotland’s vision for a world class multi-modal, multi-operator smart ticketing environment.

Commenting on the news, Derek Rae, Operations Director of PDMS said, “Investing in our products and services to ferry operators ensures that we can deliver the most effective ferry ticketing and reservation solutions.  It also means that benefits can be passed onto our clients’ customers – reducing boarding times, reducing payment barriers and making integrated travelling a lot simpler. By utilising smart technology infrastructure, great value can be added to not only to the operators but to the public that uses them”.
