We would like to congratulate CalMac on their success at this year’s National Transport Awards. Supported by the Department for Transport and Transport Focus, the event took place in London where CalMac scooped the prestigious award of Ferry Operator of the Year.
They defeated strong competition from ferry operators around the UK and Ireland, and was based on improved services and facilities and overall achievements. This award adds to CalMac's long list of industry awards.
The industry publication Transport Times organised the event, with Professor David Begg, former lecturer in transport policy at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Louise Ellman MP, former chair of the House of Commons Transport Select Committee and Claire Haigh Chief Executive of sustainable travel group, Greener Journeys on the judging panel.
